Over the last ten years, the proliferation of online courses and programs continued to steadily rise at universities and colleges across the globe. Today, the COVID-19 outbreak pushes administrators and instructors into uncharted territories when it comes to designing and implementing online courses. Whether instructors have many years of experience teaching online or none at all, the pandemic unwillingly compelled faculty across the world to envision their formerly face-to-face classes into online modalities. The coronavirus has educational institutions facing the future of learning. However, one important aspect of instructional design remains the same: quality matters. In this session, panelists share their expertise in online course design, review, and certification for graduate and undergraduate courses through Quality Matters online course certification programs, as well as institutionally focused quality assurance efforts. This diverse panel of tv, film, radio, photography, design, and journalism faculty share what has worked, and what has not in their courses’ design and delivery methods.
