Hi, I’m Dr. Nick Artman.
I’m an Associate Professor of Communication at Slippery Rock University (SRU), teaching in the areas of digital media production and advertising. I also serve as the Chief Operator and Faculty Advisor for WSRU-FM, SRU’s student-run FM radio station. My research approach stems from a media ecologist perspective; specifically focusing on the interaction between media and how it affects human behaviors, perceptions, emotions, and feelings. I conduct research to provide students with current real-world solutions to real-world problems.
Back in 2016, I obtained my Ph.D. in Communications Media and Instructional Technology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), and after several years as an instructional designer and adjunct lecturer at Gannon University and Penn State Behrend, I joined SRU in the fall of 2017.
